Landscape Workspace Pilot v0.1
Start with the site.
A guided workspace for landscape pre-design. Record the brief, choose your project area, and review a mapped base before developing the design.
San Diego County · Public data · Preliminary, not for construction or permit submittal
Project record has not been exported.
The brief saves in this browser. Export to keep a copy of selected parcels; selections reset on reload.
Pre-Design
Understand the starting conditions.
Use public evidence to begin the work. Keep mapped information, estimates and your own decisions distinguishable.
Frame the project.
Describe what you are trying to achieve before choosing a design response. These are your project notes, not an automated program or feasibility finding.
Choose the base map area.
Select one or more parcels, then build a scaled sheet, CAD linework and a preliminary 3D model. Selected tax parcels are a mapped reference, not a boundary survey.
Click anywhere to look up a parcel, even at county scale. Zoom in for neighbouring outlines. Click a selected parcel again to remove it; press Enter for the parcel under the centre mark.
Selected project area
No parcel chosen yet.
Mapped parcels and footprints may be incomplete. Confirm the project boundary against reliable survey information before using it for design decisions.
Building the base map
Site Dossier / Data collection
Build the site inventory here.
Collect terrain, soils, water, fire, climate and the microclimate planting synthesis. The analysis square is centred on your last parcel lookup point; it is separate from the selected parcel boundary.
Select a parcel to begin.

Available sources and remaining field work
Review what is mapped.
These are the sources available to Base Mapping. Building a base map creates the source register and review flags beneath its drawing; this panel does not represent a completed site visit.
- Parcels and project extent
- Selected assessor parcels define the mapped work area. Their outlines are a tax-parcel reference, not a survey or legal boundary determination. SanGIS parcel service via SANDAG
- Building footprints
- Public mapped outlines from OpenStreetMap, with FEMA and ORNL USA Structures as a fallback. Missing outlines do not establish that a site is vacant. OpenStreetMap · USA Structures
- Ground and building heights
- Base Mapping checks available USGS 3DEP lidar. The output identifies the collection and records estimated, assumed or entered heights. Coverage and survey age must be reviewed. USGS 3DEP
- Aerial imagery
- Optional USDA NAIP imagery can be added beneath the completed base map. Compare acquisition dates with known site changes. NAIP service via USGS
The planting synthesis and overlay explorer appear here after inventory collection.
Scenario workbench
Explore a development question.
Local evidence mode uses explicit rules and the generated inventory. It is not connected to an AI service yet and does not determine suitability or compliance.
Irrigation demand / Preliminary worksheet
Carry planting zones into hydrozone planning.
Use climate references and measured irrigation inputs to estimate demand for a stated period. Terrain classes are candidate study groups, not mapped valves or established hydrozones. No coefficient, irrigation efficiency or precipitation rate is inferred from imagery.
Collect inventory for an automatic regional zone lookup.
CIMIS climate and ETo dataHardiness describes winter cold tolerance. ETo describes atmospheric water demand. Neither establishes soil infiltration, plant demand or an irrigation program by itself.
Excel export covers one hydrozone and one period, with editable MWELO scheduling parameters. Review the settings before entering them manually in the CS3000, accounting for its own ET adjustment. Your CS3000 worksheet can define the final layout later.
Open the original Site Dossier separately
Explore site evidence.
The existing Site Dossier can read terrain, sun, soils, water, fire and regional planting context from public sources. Use its source notes and limitations to inform your interpretation.
Existing tool
Site Dossier
Opens separately. Its live analysis results are not automatically added to this project record.
A mapped condition is evidence to investigate. It does not establish site suitability, regulatory compliance or a design conclusion. Keep your interpretation and any remaining uncertainty in the project notes.
