Base Plan / Prototype v0.1 · draft

A scaled base plan
of your lot.

Find a San Diego County address, or zoom in and click parcel outlines to choose one lot or several: the base map area. The page then reads the building footprints and USGS lidar over them, draws a base plan at an engineering scale (lot lines with lengths, footprints, an area table) and builds a to-scale 3D model (each footprint as a flat-topped block, the open area on the lidar ground) for Material Studio.

Data: SanGIS assessor parcels (hosted by SANDAG), OpenStreetMap footprints (FEMA and ORNL USA Structures as a fallback), USGS 3DEP lidar (public copy on AWS), and optional USDA NAIP imagery. Everything runs in your browser. Limits: areas and heights are estimates from public data, not a measured takeoff; parcels are a tax-parcel reference, not a boundary survey; footprints are mapped outlines, not floor area; heights come from lidar that may be years old, and the lot and heights are suggestions until you confirm them. No yards, setbacks or zoning. Preliminary: not for construction or permit submittal.

Or zoom in on the map: parcel outlines appear from street level. Click one to add it to the base map area and click it again to take it out (or move the map and press Enter for the parcel under the centre mark).
