About / FIELD METHOD

Useful methods.
Visible reasoning.

An emerging research and methods practice for landscape architecture and the built environment.

Make site work easier to review

FIELD METHOD focuses on a practical problem: site information often arrives in separate maps, notes and files, while the decision needs a coherent account of what matters and why.

The work connects decision-led scope, traceable evidence, field verification, interpretation, graphic communication, QA and coordinated handoff. It is for landscape architects, planners, designers, public agencies and collaborators working through early site questions.

Demonstrate the work

The first offer is the Site Analysis Starter Kit: editable templates for assembling a small, explainable review package. The Trolley Barn example shows how real internal research moves through that workflow, including its unresolved checks.

Keep professional judgment visible

Sources, observations, interpretation and decisions have different roles. A mapped result does not automatically describe current conditions or establish a design recommendation. Source suitability, field verification and appropriate specialist review remain part of the work.

The terrain example is preliminary internal terrain-pattern analysis. It is not survey, engineering, grading, drainage, accessibility, compliance or constructability advice. No client-service history, professional credentials or validated product performance is claimed here.

Start with a useful package

Files stay editable and portable. The starter kit works with ordinary Markdown and CSV files, without an account or an automated decision system.
